Brazil – C. Sampaio: “Against Chille, I scored with my eyes closed”

Statements from Ozoir-la-Ferrière (southeast of PARIS) on Monday 29 June

CESAR SAMPAIO (5):

“The DENMARK team are less skillful than the CHILE team, but they do have some extremely dangerous players. We need to be very careful right from the kick-off because the Danes can always score right away in an attempt to control the match from the start. This is what they did to NIGERIA (DENMARK-NIGERIA 4-1). As for me, I’m in great shape. Let me tell you a little secret: During the BRAZIL-CHILE (4-1) match, I scored with my eyes closed in the eleventh minute. When DUNGA (8) hit the free-kick, I headed the ball without looking at it for fear of it hitting me right in the face.”

JUNIOR BAIANO (4):

“I want to win the World Cup title with the BRAZIL team so that I can dedicate the victory to Télé Santana. He was the BRAZIL team coach from 1982-1986, and he is currently ill. When I played for the Sao Paulo team, he was the one who taught me everything I know.”
