England – P. Scholes: “We have players who can make the difference”

Comments from La Baule-Escoublac (Loire-Atlantique)

“We managed to find ourselves better against COLOMBIA. Qualifying for the second round is just one step. We have players who can make the difference. ARGENTINA is a painful memory for the English. Personally, I admit I was upset by Maradona’s handball in the 1986 World Cup. When we play Daniel PASSARELLA’s team we have to watch out for Gabriel BATISTUTA’s (9) speed and ability to win the ball. However, when I see the quality of our attackers, I’m very confident. We shouldn’t forget that ARGENTINA are the favourites in this meeting and so they’ll be under more pressure than us.”
