FRANCE 98 – Morocco – H. Michel: “May the best team win”
Henri MICHEL, coach for MOROCCO (Group A)
“As usual, I won’t reveal the team line up for tomorrow. We’ve had a few team injuries and I can’t yet take a decision about Abdelkrim EL HADRIOUI’s (3) state of health. On Tuesday 23 June for the match against SCOTLAND (Group A) at the stade Geoffroy-Guichard in SAINT-ETIENNE, we’re going to do our utmost and may the best team win. Both teams want to win, we’re both in exactly the same position and if we win we could qualify. The SCOTLAND team has played two very good matches and their players are very hard to handle. The Scots are well known for their self-confidence. We will have to change our approach; their organisation on the ground is very different. They’re going to fight until the last minute; they have excellent will power. Their team is extremely solid which caused the Brazilians numerous problems. To win this match we’ll have to play very well for 90 minutes, but unlike the match against BRAZIL, without the ups and downs. My players know that we really only have one alternative: win and qualify. Morale is flying high and they want to fight”
