FRANCE 98 – Nigerian flag at half-mast at the château of Bellinglise

 The flag at the château de Bellinglise in Resson-sur-Matz flies at half-mast. At 9h 35 on 9 June, before the Nigerian national team’s training session, a minute’s silence was observed by players, officials and spectators in memory of the late President Sani Abacha.

 The training sessions nevertheless had a relaxed atmosphere, and the players enjoyed an animated game of hit-the-bar together.

 Despite the wet conditions – and a harmless fall by Daniel AMOKACHI – the training session went very well and was followed by the Nigerian delegation. This press conference was likewise preceded by a minute’s silence – respectfully observed by players, coaching staff, journalists and guests.
