Rangers star Brian Laudrup produced a moment of magic on his home ground as Denmark beat injury-hit Scotland 1-0 here at Rangers’ Ibrox Stadium on Wednesday.

The flying winger, who is bound for Chelsea in the summer, has struggled with his form and fitness this season, but he looked a class apart against his adopted country. Denmark broke the deadlock after 37 minutes when Christian Dailly was hustled out of possession by Michael Schjonberg. He released Brian Laudrup who cut inside to send a rasping 20-yard drive past keeper Jim Leighton. It was his 19th goal in 74 international appearances and sweet moment on a ground where he has become an idol to Rangers fans.

Scotland manager Craig Brown was without Craig Burley, John Collins, Paul Lambert, David Hopkin, Kevin Gallacher and Gordon Durie through injury as well as long-term casualty Gary McAllister.
