SUSPENSE

As we have said on many occasions, our aim is that FRANCE 98 shall be a big and splendid celebration. The same idea motivated our plans for the final group Draw this coming December 4. Hence, the ceremony is to take place in a stadium, the Vélodrome at Marseille, for the first time ever in the history of the World Cup, in front of an audience consisting largely of young people. We also wanted to highlight the universal aspect of FRANCE 98. So there will be a curtain-raiser to the Draw itself in the form of a Gala Match between Europe and the Rest of the World, with players coming from each of the 32 qualified countries. Terrific entertainment is guaranteed, before the draw decides the composition of the 8 groups in the first round. At 188 days before kick-off, excitement and suspense will already be an integral part of the scene!
