1960 – France organised the first European Nations’ Cup
1984 – France won Euro 84 and the gold medal at the Los Angeles Olympics
1986 – France was third in the World Cup at Mexico
1988 – Creation of the Centre National Technique du Football based in Clairefontaine (Yvelines)
1992 – The FIFA entrusted the organisation of the 1998 World Cup to France
1993 – Olympique de Marseille won the European Club Champions Cup, the first European trophy to be won by a French Club
1994 – The FFF topped the two million membership mark
