Norway – O. Solskjaer: “A physical encounter with Scotland doesn’t scare me” 15.06.98 09h54 CET Comments from Saint-André-des-Eaux (Loire-Atlantique)
Kjetil REKDAL (10):
“SCOTLAND and NORWAY are equally strong. Physically, their game is very similar to ours. We know our own strengths. Now, however, we have to demonstrate them on the pitch, in BORDEAUX. We still have to prove ourselves, but our first match against MOROCCO wasn’t as ugly as some would have it. NORWAY’s aim has always been to qualify for the next round. To make it there, we have to get four points in our next two group matches.”
Ole Gunnar SOLSKLAER (20):
“A physical encounter with SCOTLAND doesn’t scare me. I’m used to them through playing with Manchester United in England. We have a good chance of winning against SCOTLAND – our game can only improve. A win, even a close one, would make me happy.”
Ronny JOHNSEN (3):
“Despite criticism, our defense is as strong as it was in 1994. The second goal we let in when we played against MOROCCO was our only defensive mistake in the match. We will prove this in BORDEAUX when we play SCOTLAND. I hope you’ll see NORWAY’s true colours.”
Gunnar HALLE (2):
“I was really surprised by the strength of MOROCCO. You can expect a good game when we play SCOTLAND as the two teams both really need to win. After that, we want to beat BRAZIL.”
