FRANCE 98 – Argentina – D. Passarella: “”I am wary of Jamaica”
“I am wary of JAMAICA — they are a physically strong team, very combative in the positive sense of the word. I respect the bold work that the JAMAICA coach René SIMOES has done. In the last match JAMAICA played, we noticed how he was able to reorganise his players from the bench when they were getting disorganised on the pitch. The number of points we will have earned at the end of this first round matters little to us — our only objective is to qualify for the second round. Since our last match against JAPAN, we have worked very hard, particularly on the accuracy of our shooting and on our free kicks. This first match was an ice-breaker; on Sunday you will see an ARGENTINA team play a top class match against JAMAICA. All of the players are really fit and Roberto SENSINI (6) has recovered from the injury to his left hand. Why do I have my players play handball during practice? Simply to let them wind down and relax.”
