FRANCE 98 – ROMANIA (Group G) bring cheese, water and wine
The Romanian delegation did not arrive empty-handed at TOULOUSE’s Blagnac airport on Sunday 7th June. As they got off the TAROM airline plane, one and a half hours later than expected, the Romanian players collected their own luggage while the support staff picked up the supplies brought by the team. Thus a stream of countless bottles of Romanian mineral water (Perla sparkling water), as well as Romanian wine and goat cheese rolled down the conveyor belt. The delegation was welcomed by, amongst others, the former St Etienne player Alain Merchadier who is president of the association : “Albi in step with the World Cup”. They then set off for their headquarters in the town of Albi where they will be staying at the Relais-Château “La Reserve” until June 23rd.
