Match Schedules for the 16^th World Cup

At exactly one month from the Final Draw of the Football World Cup in Marseille, FIFA and the French Organising Committee of the Football World Cup (CFO) have announced the schedules for the 64 matches of the 1998 FIFA World Cup.

 As previously announced, the kick-offs will be given at the following times :

 First round :

• days in which 2 matches will be played : 5:30pm and 9pm ;
• days in which 3 matches will be played : 2:30pm, 5:30pm and 9pm ;
• days in which 4 matches will be played : two at 4pm and two at 9pm ;

Rounds of sixteen and Quarter finals : 4:30pm and 9pm ;

Semi-finals, Match for 3^rd place and Final : 9pm.

All 10 World Cup stadiums will host at least one match in the evening, with the exception of Bordeaux, as the sun will be setting in the angle of vision of the television cameras.

Each one of the 10 stadiums will also host a match at the start of the afternoon.

In extreme cases, and in order to attract the largest television audience given time differences, FIFA reserves the right to modify slightly the kick-off time of certain first round matches, as was the case at two previous World Cup games.

The official schedule of the 48 first round matches will be announced at the end of the evening ceremony of the Draw in Marseille on 4 December.
