ALGECO, Equipment Supplier to FRANCE 98
On 3 September, Fernand Sastre and Michel Platini, Presidents of the French Organising Committee, and Jean-Marie Thomine-Desmazures, President of the ALGECO Group, signed an agreement making ALGECO an Official Equipment Supplier to FRANCE 98.
ALGECO is the French and European market leader in modular design, with subsidiaries in Germany, Belgium, Italy, Spain and Portugal. On the world market, it comes in at number 2. Its 1,100 employees post revenues of FF 1,120 million, 92% of which comes from modular design. With more than 57,000 modules to its name, ALGECO boasts the largest stock in Europe in its sector.
By the terms of this agreement, ALGECO will assist World Cup preparations by putting its expertise in the field of rigid modular design at the CFO’s disposal. It will be providing temporary premises to be used as reception desks, sales points, locker areas and technical service offices in administration areas.
After playing its part in the Winter Olympic Games in Albertville and the Summer Olympics in Barcelona in 1992, the ALGECO Group has earned its reputation as an ever-present when it comes to large-scale European sporting events.
The ALGECO Group is the fourteenth company to become an “Equipment Supplier” to the next Football World Cup.
It joins the hotel group ACCOR, the RATP (Paris metropolitan area rail network), Frisquet, the Arjo-Wiggins Group, the Lafarge Group, Guilbert, the S.N.C.F. (France’s national railway network), Primagaz, France Secours, Générale Location, Yves Saint Laurent, Caterpillar and Bosch; and two more companies will soon be completing the list.
