DOUBLET, Official Equipment Supplier to FRANCE 98
On Monday 22 September 1997, at the Parc des Princes, Michel Platini and Jacques Lambert, respectively President and Managing Director of the French Organising Committee, signed a partnership contract with Luc Doublet, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of DOUBLET, making the latter an Official Equipment Supplier to FRANCE 98 in the field of decoration and signage.
The DOUBLET company was founded in 1832, and has developed several lines of business: the design and manufacture of flags, banners and streamers, and the manufacture and distribution of tubular structure products such as security barriers, rostrums, stands, town fixtures and sports equipment. It also deals in engineering for big events.
The company, which employs a staff of 200, posts revenues of FF 150 million and has established subsidiaries in the USA, Poland, Spain, Belgium and Germany. DOUBLET has already given good instance of its expertise during large-scale events like the World Fair in Seville, the French Revolution Bicentenary celebrations and the Olympic Games in Seoul, Barcelona and Atlanta. For the latter occasions, it supplied all the flags and flagpoles.
During the coming Football World Cup, DOUBLET will be in charge of decking out the ten host cities. Its task will range from initial studies of the locations to the organisation itself, incorporating the conception, manufacture, positioning and maintenance of the various decorative elements.
DOUBLET is the fifteenth company to become an “Official Equipment Supplier” to FRANCE 98.
In all, there will be sixteen associates in this partnership category. The newcomer, DOUBLET, joins the hotel group ACCOR, the R.A.T.P. (Paris metropolitan area rail network), the Frisquet company, the Arjo-Wiggins Group, the Lafarge Group, Guilbert, the S.N.C.F. (France’s national railway network), Primagaz, France Secours, Générale Location, Yves Saint Laurent, Caterpillar, Bosch and Algeco.
Michel Platini et Jacques Lambert, Président et Directeur Général du Comité Français d’Organisation, ont signé lundi 22 septembre 1997, au Parc des Princes, avec Luc Doublet, Président Directeur Général de DOUBLET, un accord de partenariat au terme duquel DOUBLET devient un Prestataire Agréé de FRANCE 98 dans la catégorie décoration et signalétique.
