FRANCE 98 – France-Paraguay, 40 years later…

FRANCE and PARAGUAY, who will be playing Sunday in LENS for a spot in the quarter final of FRANCE 98, haven’t been head-to-head in… 40 years. The last time was on 8 June 1958 at the Idrottsparken Stadium in Norrkoeping for the opening match in the World Cup in Sweden. And up until now, it was the only official match between the two countries. The French won 7-3 (2-2) following an exciting second half.
