FRANCE 98 – Italy – G. Bergomi: “We'll have to play really well in order to beat Norway”
Cesare MALDINI, ITALY team coach:
“We have had a close look at the NORWAY team which appears to be very strong: they went for 17 matches without a loss and beat BRAZIL twice, the last occasion being a sudden reversal of the situation, as we know, in which they qualified for the second round at the expense of MOROCCO. Unlike the Austrians, the Norwegians play with everyone behind the ball, and only one target man : Tore Andre FLO.”
Giuseppe BERGOMI (2), the most recent player to have replaced Alessandro NESTA (6), who was injured during the course of the match against AUSTRIA:
“Norway is a very physical and well organised team. They all play behind the ball; we will have to play really well in order to beat them. Tore Andre FLO (17) is a great player, for both his physique and skill. He will be very difficult to mark. He is a real centre forward, excellent with his head.”
