Total, the Official Petrol of FRANCE 98
Total became the Official Petrol of the 1998 World Cup on 28 May 1997 when Fernand Sastre and Michel Platini, Presidents of the French Organising Committee for the World Cup, signed an agreement with Jean-Paul Vettier, the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of TOTAL refining and distribution.
This agreement will, among other things, allow TOTAL to use FOOTIX
TOTAL already has a world-wide presence in 100 different countries. The World Cup will further enable it to energise its international reputation by teaming up with an event expected to attract a record audience, which will include10,000 journalists as well as 2.5 million spectators and the cumulative figure of 37 billion television viewers.
And the new partnership will be unmistakable when the 7,000 TOTAL petrol stations in Europe and Africa are “kitted out” in FRANCE 98 colours.
TOTALís activities cover the entire span of the petrol industry: exploration and development, production of petrol and gas and the refining and distribution of petrol-related products.
TOTAL now becomes a member of the exclusive club of Official 1998 World Cup Products and services.
