FRANCE 98 – Belgium – G. Leekens: “We've recharged our batteries”
Statements from Cailloux-sur-Fontaines (69)
“We’ve recharged our batteries. The upcoming match against KOREA REPUBLIC (Group E) is very important because we need three more points. Within the squad, Philippe DE WILDE (1) has a problem with his adductor muscle. He trained alone this morning, without forcing things. As for Danny BOFFIN (21), he won’t be playing against KOREA REPUBLIC because of his knee trouble, but he will probably be better in time for the next match, if we qualify.
I don’t want to think about the past anymore; I want to keep my sights on the future and concentrate exclusively on the Koreans.
Against MEXICO (Group E) we played a good, more offensive game. But I was disappointed with the result (2-2). Moreover, the players suffered greatly from the heat. The starting line-up for the match on Thursday 25 June, must give 100% because I don’t want to be forced to substitute a player in the first half. So I’ll wait until tomorrow before announcing any team changes, as everything depends on the team’s fitness.
