More than 70 players from England’s professional leagues will be in action at the World Cup finals. All 22 of England’s squad play in the English Premiership and English-based players will represent no fewer than 15 of the 32 finalists.

Norway have the second-largest English-based representation, with half their squad based here.

Eight members of the Scottish squad, seven Dutch, five Danes and five Jamaicans also play in England.

“There are now over 150 international stars playing in the English Premier League,” said Alec McGivan, England’s World Cup 2006 campaign director. “It is a reflection on the success of English football that so many foreign players want to play here.”
