FRANCE 98 – Nigeria – Kanu pleads with fans

NIGERIA whizz-kid KANU NWANKWO who had his taste of World Cup action yesterday as a substitute against BULGARIA, has appealed to his fans to give him some time to break into the senior team.

The player, who survived heart surgery recently, is among the few players in the world to have featured in virtually all FIFA age-group competitions. “I know so much is expected from me by my fans, but the stomach upset I had [as reported earlier on Info FRANCE 98] initially threw me off balance. I thank God that I have now recovered and hope to give of my best soon.”
