FRANCE 98 – Brother against brother in Toulouse

Three of the matches which will be played at the Stadium de TOULOUSE will see several players from the same club playing for opposing sides. On June 11^th, there will be five Rapid Vienna players taking the field for the CAMEROON vs AUSTRIA clash in Group B. These include the CAMEROONIAN Samuel IPOUA (no. 18) and the Austrians Peter SCHOTTEL (3), Andréas HERAF(20), Peter STOGER (18) and Arnold WETL (15). On June 22, fellow Chelsea players Dan PETRESCU (2) and Graeme LE SAUX (3) will face each other in the ROMANIA vs ENGLAND game from (Group G). Two other examples of team mates playing for opposing sides are also expected on June 18^th for the match between SOUTH AFRICA and DENMARK (Group C).Each team includes a player from the English club Bolton Wanderers : Mark FISH (5) for SOUTH AFRICA and Per FRAUDSEN (8) for DENMARK. Finally, Benedict McCARTHY (17) and Michael LAUDRUP (10), both of whom play for Ajax Amsterdam, have joined up with their respective national teams: SOUTH AFRICA for the former and DENMARK for the latter.
