Grand Finale at the Stade de France : the show begins at 17h30 |

Sunday 12 July 1998, the Stade de France will open its doors at 17h30 to welcome fans for the 16th World Cup final. Entertainment is scheduled long before the kick off of the BRAZIL-FRANCE match.
- 17h30: Musical entertainment, giant screen movies and presentation of the World Cup
- 19h35: Show “The Colours of the World”, produced by YVES SAINT-LAURENT. Football and fashion uniquely come together on the pitch of the Stade de France. No fewer than 300 models from all over the world, led by 30 top-models, will introduce the most prestigious creations of the famous couturier. This geometric ballet will last 15 minutes, and will bring grace and harmony together, allowing the spectators in the Stade de France to relive 40 years of fashion genius to the tune of Ravel’s Bolero.
- 20h00: Ricky Martin and his dancers will sing “La Copa de la Vida”
- 20h14: The players will take the pitch for the warm-up session.
- 20h47: Announcement of the team line-ups.
- 20h52: Children carrying the national flags and the FIFA fair-play flag will take the pitch. The FIFA hymn will play and the players will take the pitch. Tifo du Stade de France (creation of a mosaic in the stands will spectator participation)
- 20h54: National anthems from BRAZIL and FRANCE interpreted by the Republican Guard and the French Army choir (70 musicians and 42 singers)
- 21h00: Beginning of the match
- At the end of the match, the 44 players and their coaches will go onto the podiums to receive their medals.
- French president Jacques Chirac will present the FIFA World Cup to the captain of the World Cup champion team.
- Photos will be taken followed by a victory lap around the stadium.
- After the players leave the pitch, the Closing Ceremony of the 16th FIFA Football World Cup – FRANCE 98 will take place. The show produced by Yves Pépin, creator of the Opening Ceremony on 10 June, consists of four scenes with a light show, ending with a fire display.
- 10 minutes later, the ceremony ends.
