FRANCE 98 – AMOKACHI (NIGERIA – Group D): injury scare at training

During the Nigerian team’s (Group D) training session at the Stade de Ressons-sur-Matz (Oise) on Tuesday 9 June, the forward Daniel AMOKACHI (14) received a blow to his right knee after colliding with one of his teammates who was trying to prevent him from shooting. After spending a few moments with an ice pack on his knee, AMOKACHI eventually left the pitch, one hour into the session.

The collision ultimately proved to be minor: the Nigerian player appeared in the afternoon at the château de Bellinglise, the Africans’ base, at a post-press conference reception. Walking normally, he declared himself to be “ninety-nine per cent fit”.
