“We need to play play well during the entire match against SPAIN. We can’t lose concentration like we did in the first half of the match against PARAGUAY (match no. 7, 0-0 draw) or in the second half against NIGERIA (match no. 23, 0-1 loss). Our strikers must do their defensive work because during counter attacks, strikers are our first defenders. This is what we’re working on right now during our training sessions. Also, it’s imperative that we maximise our attempts to score.

As for the NIGERIA-PARAGUAY match (no. 39, Wednesday 24 June), I hope that FIFA will be vigilant and I especially hope that NIGERIA will give their all. I would like to point out that before every World Cup match, we bring out the FIFA Fair Play flag. The match must take place under honest conditions.”
