Cameroon World Cup midfielder Marc-Vivien Foe, 23, is expceted to sign for English Premiership runners-up Manchester United in the next few days, French champions Racing Lens said Wednesday.

Lens, asking 35 million francs (6 million dollars) for his transfer, say Manchester have opened negotiations.

Foe, in Corsica at a World Cup training camp with Cameroon, has already agreed to the move to England. Foe scored twice in the last 18 matches in Lens’ championship run after coming back from an early-season injury.

“He’s developed a lot this season. He’s no longer just a midfield work-house. He goes forward and contributes a lot to attack,”   said Lens coach Daniel Leclerq. “He’ll be difficult to replace.”
