FRANCE 98 – Japan could cause an upset claims Gerald Passi

Gérald Passi, the former French international, who played for SAINT-ETIENNE, TOULOUSE and Monaco, finished his professional career in JAPAN. He played in 1995 and 1996 for Nagoya, coached by Arsène Wenger.

Two of Japan’s selected players impressed him. Midfield player Takashi (22) for Nagoya and forward Masahi NAKAYAMA (9) of Jubilo Iwata.

Passi believes that JAPAN could cause an upset in Group H, though this will not be easy :”If they could qualify for the last sixteen, it would be seen as a great achievement in Tokyo.”

Gérald Passi who is finishing a design course in Paris, may well be contacted by a Japanese television station, to work as a consultant.

He will be in TOULOUSE on June 14th to watch the match between ARGENTINA and JAPAN.
