FRANCE 98 – Japan – Takeshi Okada: “We'll play counter-attack”

Before taking on ARGENTINA (Group H), in the first match of the tournament in TOULOUSE, the Japanese coach, Takeshi OKADA is predicting a 1-0 victory for his team, or failing that a 1-1 draw, which would still give him a great deal of satisfaction. JAPAN will play a tight defensive game to contain the expected Argentinian assault, hoping to exploit any opportunities to counter-attack using their own strengths – speed of reaction, sharpness and a perfect understanding between the players.
