FRANCE 98 – Communique Template

The French Organising Committee and La Poste have confirmed that tickets for the World Cup are now being sent out.

Delivery, which will take place in several waves in the days to come, at present concerns only those tickets reserved directly through the French Organising Committee in 1996 and 1997, in other words FRANCE 98 PASSES and the individual tickets for the “big matches” allocated by a draw in December 1997.

In order to deliver the tickets, La Poste, Official Mail Carrier to FRANCE 98, has set up a security-tight procedure. The tickets are placed in special packaging carrying a specific code, enabling La Poste to constantly keep tabs on the mail between its departure and arrival.

Delivery will only be made upon the signature of the addressee, as with recorded mail. If the addressee is absent when the postman comes by, the package will be kept for him/her at the nearest post office, where it can be collected upon presentation of some form of identity.

The tickets reserved in 1998 by the residents of the 18 countries in the European Economic Space, France included, will be sent out to their buyers at the end of May/beginning of June.
