Brazil – M. Zagallo: “Public pressure will be on the shoulders of the French players”
Statements from Ozoir-la-Ferriere (south-east PARIS).
Mario ZAGALLO, BRAZIL team coach:
“Against FRANCE, we have an advantage in that we have players who have already participated in a World Cup final in 1994 (BRAZIL beat ITALY 4-2on penalties). FRANCE, on the other hand, will be playing for in their first-ever World Cup final (Sunday, BRAZIL will be playing in their 6th final). No question that, psychologically, that plays in our favour. Public pressure will also be on the shoulders of the French players, which is not always a benefit.” (In 1950, BRAZIL lost 2-1 to Uruguay in Rio de Janeiro in front of their own fans).
