FRANCE 98 – Rob Witschge: “Holland is capable of getting to the semi-final and even further”
Comments from SAINT-ETIENNE, Thursday 25 June
“I haven’t been to SAINT-ETIENNE for 9 years. The stadium and the town have really changed. I’m always really pleased to be back. Until now HOLLAND have played some really fine matches and will easily get to the next round. They ‘re even capable of getting to the semi-final and even further. I predicted a victory for HOLLAND against MEXICO (2-1). This World Cup is going very well but it’s a shame that a lot of teams are playing not to concede goals, unlike HOLLAND who are playing to score. The teams that have impressed me the most are HOLLAND, MEXICO and FRANCE. It’s a pity for them that Zinedine ZIDANE got a red card so stupidly but the French team has what it takes to get to the end. Moreover I said before the start of this World Cup that FRANCE were the favourites to win the tournament.”
