“I think that the ITALY-FRANCE match will be very intense, very physical. The return of Zinedine ZIDANE (10) will give an extra boost to the FRANCE team’s midfield, which is, I think, superior to ITALY’s. On the other hand, ITALY have a very strong attack, and should be looking to score a goal against what is probably the best defence in this World Cup. I predict that the match will go to a penalty shoot-out, but I hope, too, that this will be a good day for DEL PIERO (10). Speaking as a former goalkeeper, I think that the most important quality for a goalie is staying calm. As regards PAGLIUCA (12) and BARTHEZ (1), I think the Italian has the edge in this respect.”
