Honouring 4,000 young footballers

The French Football Federation (FFF), backed by COCA-COLA and CREDIT AGRICOLE, is giving 4,000 young footballers the chance to grace the pitches of the 16th FIFA World Cup-FRANCE 98.

Some youngsters will be playing in the curtain-raiser matches and others will be acting as ball boys and girls.

2,400 under-11’s and under-12’s have been selected from clubs all over France as part of the “T’es jeune t’es foot” programme. They will be playing in 240 teams of 10 players in curtain-raiser games. On 11 July, the two finalists will play one another at Parc des Princes before the third place play-off game kicks off. A further 1,768 registered players between ages 11 and 16 will be acting as ball boys and girls during the competition..

In all, more than 4,000 budding footballers will have the chance to play on a “world stage”. The complete list of qualified clubs is available from Romain Lainé at the FFF on 01 44 31 73 84.
