Argentinean President, Carlos Menem, visits the CIRTV

The Argentinean President, Carlos Menem, arrived at Orly airport (south of PARIS) today, Tuesday June 9 at 14 h 00. He came from New York, where he had been attending the UN meeting on drug-trafficking. Before settling into his hotel, he visited the International Broadcasting Centre in the 15th arrondissement of PARIS (CIRTV) which is home to 170 audiovisual media. Forty journalists were waiting for the Argentinean President, who arrived at the International Media Centre (CIM) at 15 h 00. Upon arrival at the CIRTV, Carlos Menem just quickly said “saludo para todos. Amo el deporte” (“Hello to everyone. I love sport”). Next, the Argentinean President went on to celebrate the premiere radiotelevision signal broadcast by TVRS98 (host broadcasters of the 16th World Cup) around the world. After ten minutes, Mr. Menem left by a side-door and went back to his room at the Hotel Crillon, Place de la Concorde. Carlos Menem, who is in FRANCE on a private visit, went to the Louvre Musuem this afternoon. He will return to Buenos Aires on Wednesday 10 June, after match No.1, BRAZIL-SCOTLAND (Group A).
