Everything is still mixed up in my head. It all feels unreal. I’m going on holidays so I know we must be world champions. Tonight we proved that French teams can play good football and still win.

After each victory the atmosphere in the dressing room was wonderful. This team possesses a wonderful “joie de vivre” and a will to win as well. Five years ago when I discovered that FRANCE would host the World Cup I dreamt that we would win the Final 2-0. Unfortunately I scored the third goal.

I was very moved by the TV pictures of the crowds supporting us. The most important thing for me is to have brought pleasure to all those people. We’ve haven’t seen the French public for 70 days now. We’ve seen nothing but trees, we’re sick of it. I can’t wait to get back to real life.”

Alain BOGHOSSIAN (14):

“Tonight we’re all in seventh heaven: All our dreams have come true. We really deserved this victory. When I took the field I felt enormous pressure even though we were leading 2-0. Now we’ve got 4 years of good times ahead of us. I hope the French public, who were tremendous tonight, will be just as enthusiastic for all our games in the future.

When I got my hands on the cup I thought about my dad who died 4 years ago. He would’ve loved to see this day.
