Paraguay – P. Carpeggiani: “We hope that the refereeing will be of a high standard for tomorrow's match”

Paulo Cesar CARPEGGIANI, PARAGUAY team coach

“We hope that the refereeing will be of a high standard for tomorrow’s match, but the most important thing is that no mistakes are made that favour FRANCE, them being the organising country. FRANCE must prove that they are favourites for this match. For me they are nothing more than another hurdle to jump in this competition. I am over the moon that five Latin-American teams have reached the second round. My opinion is that ARGENTINA are, however, slightly better than the others. As for us, we’re doing just fine. We are probably in one of our best footballing periods ever: the team has come through a difficult group stronger than ever. For tomorrow’s match, we may well play an attacking game, as we did against NIGERIA. All that depends on circumstances on the day.”
