LYON : World cup museum exhibitions

The World Cup is featured in the museums of the Lyon area.

“Football, culture of the century” is the theme of the exhibition at the Museum of Printing (13, rue de la Poulaillerie in the second district), from 9^th June to 12^th July 1998.

The programme also includes two exhibitions of sports clothing:

“The evolution of football equipment” from 8^th to 30^th June, at the Exhibition Centre (1, place de la Comédie in the first district of Lyon)

“Sport and the use of new textiles” at the Museum of Textiles (rue de la Charité in the second district ), from 9^th June until the end of August 1998.

In Echirolles (Isère region), the exhibition “Kick off, football and contemporary art” is showing at the Géo-Charles Museum (1 rue Géo-Charles), from 15^th May to 12^th July 1998. This exhibition features eleven artists who use various media, notably photography, video and drawing. Each artist treats the theme of football according to his own ideas of representation, ritual and fascination.
