“CHILE started the match very well. Unfortunately, in its first attack BRAZIL got a free kick and scored a goal. After its second goal; BRAZIL completely relaxed, and we were not able to do a thing against them. It was already a great performance that for the first time in sixteen years CHILE had qualified for the knockout phase of the World Cup. And, in addition, we had to play against the team who will surely go all the way to the finals. But we played without any inferiority complex. We accomplished what we set out to do. Now we’ll have to raise our level for the 2002 World Cup.”
