Zico: “We must find a way to unhinge the defensive unit of France”

“It’s fantastic. Both semi-finals were magnificent. We were all dreaming of a final between FRANCE and BRAZIL and it’s good news for the entertainment. BRAZIL’s strength is its technique and FRANCE has the public. My favourite is of course BRAZIL, because I’m Brazilian. As for the criticism of RONALDO (9), I think it is unwarranted, because he has made three vital passes and scored four goals.”

“It was a very tough match for both teams but the best team won. FRANCE showed that it can play fast with two young forwards, TREZEGUET (20) and HENRY (12). I do think that the refereeing and the supporters maybe tilted the balance though. Now we’ve got some work to do before the final. We’re going to take another look at the videos of FRANCE’s matches. We must find a way to unhinge their defensive unit.”
