To paint the Cup in all the colours of the world; every shade and every hue! Such was our aim in choosing the graphic style for FRANCE 98, which you can discover in the exciting new format to today’s edition. With now less than 500 days to go until kick-off, we wanted to highlight this important step, bringing our goal closer into view and giving this World Cup a face and an identity by means of a symbol: now everyone all over the world will see their national flags reflected in our chosen colours. Colours glowing with warmth and vitality that conjure up an atmosphere of celebration and festivity; a vital part of FRANCE 98 which transcends the sporting competition itself, and adds extra force and ambition to our slogan: “The beauty of a world at play.” Fernand SASTRE – Michel PLATINI
