FRANCE 98 – Jamaica – R. Simoes: “We are the team that committed the fewest fouls in its first match”

“All the high-profile teams that have won their first match have also won their second. I hope ARGENTINA will be the exception. Against JAPAN, there weren’t any individual players who stood out. They played as a team, and it is very likely that they will only get better from match to match. Experience shows that you mustn’t let great players have their way, but mark them closely while avoiding fouls in the penalty area, for which you pay dearly. It’s worth mentioning though, that we are the team that committed the fewest fouls in its first match. I’m hoping for hot weather tomorrow. That could give us an edge. Whatever happens, I think that the World Cup has a special atmosphere that raises the adrenaline.”
