Details on the ticketing for the World Cup

Today, the media reported information saying that a person, who naturally remains anonymous, knew the technical number corresponding to the hot-line telephone number of the ticketing platform set up by the CFO (0 803 00 19 98). The information was given to this person by someone working for France Telecom. The number was subsequently transmitted to a tour operator who used it to obtain easier and more frequent access to the hot-line, thereby acquiring more than 400 tickets using different identities.

 In reply to this, the French Organising Committee wishes to clarify the situation as follows:

– The CFO immediately asked France Telecom to undertake an internal enquiry to discover if the alleged actions did in fact take place, and if so, to identify the possible perpetrator(s).

  – Moreover, according to information given by France Telecom to the CFO, the technical number corresponding to 0 803 00 19 98 is not the number quoted by the press.

  – The CFO has, however, reported the facts that came to light today to the Public Prosecutor in Paris so that an enquiry can be opened.
